Four Levels You Can Stop At

“Custom” is not one thing. It is four decisions, and each one changes the minimum, the unit cost, and how early you have to commit. Take the ladder as far as the occasion needs.

Level 01 · Logo

Your logo on the product

The level every order starts at. Pick the technique that suits the surface rather than the one you have used before.

  • CraftScreen printing, laser engraving, UV printing, or debossing — matched to the material of each item.
  • MOQ impactNo effect on the minimum. Unit cost moves with the number of colours and the size of the print area.
  • What we needVector artwork, plus a Pantone reference if the colour has to be exact.
Level 02 · Name

A name on every piece

For teams where one generic gift does not land. Adds a name, initials, or a role to each unit.

  • CraftLaser engraving or UV printing of the individual name or initials, positioned on the item itself.
  • MOQ impactThe minimum stays the same. Unit cost rises with the number of unique names, because setup repeats.
  • What we needA name list in an agreed format, locked before production starts.
Level 03 · Packaging

Packaging made for the gift

When the unboxing carries part of the message — client gifts, milestone awards, and partner sets.

  • CraftCustom box or printed sleeve, with Pantone colour matching supported.
  • MOQ impactPackaging carries its own minimum, separate from the products going inside it.
  • What we needBox dimensions confirmed at artwork stage, and the packaging locked before the run starts.
Level 04 · Hand-finish

Finished by hand, one at a time

The top of the ladder. Reserved for the recipients you name individually, in small volumes.

  • CraftCustom insert, kitting, and a handwritten card carrying your own message.
  • MOQ impactThe smallest bracket of the four — priced per set rather than per unit.
  • What we needThe card copy and the recipient list, both final before kitting begins.

Levels stack — most orders sit at Level 01 or 02, and milestone or client gifts are where Level 03 and 04 earn their cost.

Recipient

The Same Milestone Is Four Different Gifts

Who receives it decides the item, the packaging, and how loud the branding should be. Pick the recipient first — the product list follows from that.

  1. 01 · EmployeesRecognition they will actually usePractical beats premium here. People notice a gift they can put on their desk the same day — and they notice one that ends up in a drawer.
    • PackagingBulk-packed, no individual box. Keeps the unit cost down and speeds up hand-out at a team meeting.
    • DeliveryOne shipment to your office, split and labelled by team or department.

  2. 02 · ClientsSomething that stays visibleA client gift competes for space on a desk that is already full. It has to look considered next to the things they chose and paid for themselves.
    • PackagingSingle-unit branded box, so the unboxing matches the item inside it.
    • DeliveryShipped one at a time to a named contact, with your card in the box.

  3. 03 · ExecutivesQuiet, personal, no hard sellAt this level the logo should be small and the item should feel chosen rather than distributed. Anything that reads as bulk fails.
    • PackagingCustom insert and a rigid outer box. Nothing is handed over in a plain shipping carton.
    • DeliveryEach box shipped individually, timed to the date you have in mind.

  4. 04 · PartnersCo-branded, not single-logoA partner gift represents both organisations. The common mistake is treating it like an internal award with your logo repeated on every surface.
    • PackagingGift-boxed with room for both logos, and your partner’s name on the card.
    • DeliveryOne consolidated shipment, or individually to each partner contact.

Recognition & Gifting FAQ

The five questions programme owners ask most before placing a first order.

What is the minimum order for recognition gifts?

Minimums run 100–500 pcs typical and depend on the product. Recognition programmes usually order in waves rather than all at once — tell us the milestone dates and the recipient counts and we will match the run, from 50 people to several thousand.

Can each gift be personalised with a recipient’s name?

Yes. Laser engraving, debossing and foil stamping, plus branded boxes, custom inserts and named cards. Send the recipient names together with the artwork approval and we will match them to the individual units before packing.

Does every recipient get the same gift?

No, and most programmes do not want that. Team, client, executive and partner gifts normally differ in both the item and the packaging — an internal team gift can be bulk-packed with no individual box, while an executive gift goes out in a rigid outer box with a custom insert. One order can mix all four groups.

Can you ship gifts individually to each recipient?

Yes. Client gifts ship one at a time to a named contact with your card in the box; executive gifts ship individually, timed to the date you have in mind. We need a recipient list (name + address) supplied with the artwork approval. If the hand-out is internal, bulk-packed to one address and split by team is the cheaper route.

How long does a recognition order take?

Pre-production samples take 5–10 business days so you can see and feel the item before mass, then 15–25 days of production after sample approval. Expedited options are available for time-sensitive milestones — send us the date and we will tell you honestly what still fits.
